JASON BURNS
Born in Colorado to a family of outdoor sport enthusiasts, Jason began skiing at the age of three on the slopes of Crested Butte where his father served as a ski patrol leader. Skiing, motocross, camping, backpacking, fishing, ice hockey, rafting and climbing Colorado’s fourteeners were all commonplace activities in the Burns household. On any given day, you'll still find Jason skiing, hiking or biking in the mountains surrounding Aspen.
At an early age, Jason also developed a fascination with parties and demonstrated a flair for entertaining and hospitality. He would work diligently to create dripping chianti bottle candles to accompany otherwise unremarkable school-night spaghetti dinners, rise early to surprise his family with breakfasts in bed, fret over the smallest details to set the perfect table and delight in entertaining friends and family with impromptu dinner parties inspired by the latest issues of Gourmet and Bon Appétit. Jason remains passionate about making life’s special moments beautiful and meaningful to those around him.
Jason cultivated his skills as a wedding and special events planning expert at some of the country’s most prestigious hotels, including The Broadmoor, The St. Regis Aspen Resort, Hotel Jerome and the Four Seasons Atlanta. He has also worked frequently as a consultant and implemented wedding and special event programs at a number of resorts and hotels, including a recent commission by the Viceroy to create their top-of-the-line wedding program. Since coordinating his first wedding over 20 years ago, Jason has coordinated hundreds of weddings and countless corporate and non-profit events.
With the launch of Burns & Madsen, Jason has been able to devote his full time and energies to doing what he loves best – making life’s special moments beautiful and meaningful for his clientele. This, combined with his very calming nature and unparalleled enthusiasm, has made him one of Aspen's most sought-after event and wedding experts.
